Welcome to my Movie Reviews!!

Please join each week to read about my movie reviews! I will post a little bit of everything. My family and I love watching movies, playing board games, and reading together. We get to cuddle... a lot. I am here for it. My kids are only this little for a short time. I fully intend in taking full advantage of them being little. Taking advantage of the fact that they still like me. They still think I am (mostly) cool. They like hanging out with me and their dad (for now).

Haunted Mansion (2023)

Last night, we ventured out at 8:15pm (on a work night) to see Haunted Mansion. If you know me, you know we are here for all things Disney.  Haunted Mansion is one of my families favorite attractions. It is a non-negotiable ride that everyone does. I usually try to only ride it once and let Steve, my in-laws, and the kids do it 2-3 times. It is a must ride every time. Naturally, we needed to see the film on opening night.

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! This was not a typical Disney movie. There were some thrills, some laughs, some spook, and some mystery. My kids were a little scared at times and I will admit, so was I! The cinamatography was impecible. The movie looked identical to the ride in so many ways. It was a little creepy how similar to the ride it was.

This is a great film to watch around Halloween. I am not sure why it was released in July, but it's all good. If your kiddos get scared easily, maybe wait until next year.

This is a great move for home. Yes, I said it. This movie was 2 hours and 5 minutes. I will tell you... it felt that long. The film was a a little slow at times.  I would have loved laying on a couch vs the uncomfortable theater chair. Molly was sitting in my seat the majority of the movie, which was tight. I think a larger seating area and blankets are needed for this one.

Happy Cuddles!

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Last week, my hubby and I ventured out on a Tuesday (of all nights) to see the new Indiana Jones (and the Dial of Destiny). I had heard from multiple sources that it was good. I watched the originals with my Dad and brother growing up. I distinctly remember having a bond with Indy because of my hatred of snakes. He feels my pain. So, on a random Tuesday, we ventured out to our nearest theater.

In true Indiana Jones fashion, it was the perfect blend of action, storytelling, and nostalgia. I was pleasantly surprise. The CGI was not over the top.The storyline was consistent with other films in the series. It was nice to see characters from previous movies, but I will admit, the random cameos were not necessary. We love Harrison Ford and I thought he did a great job bringing this character back to life.

Would I recommend? YES!  Click here to watch the trailer.

  • If you are a die hard Indiana Jones fan, you probably already saw it.

  • Theater worthy? I think so. I am one for beautiful scenery and this had it.

  • Home cuddles? Sure. It has all the nostalgia you would hope for. It is a wonderful conclusion to the series. It would make a good home movie night. Who knows.. maybe you will see an Indiana Jones inspired box in the future.

Happy Cuddles!
